How to pick a live baccarat table on Stake: speed, limits, payout rules, language

The Evolution baccarat lobby at the Stake (stake.com) casino has more than 90 tables open. The names are all over the place, Speed, Squeeze, Korean, Dynasty, and at first it is hard to know where to sit. We split what really differs between tables from what does not.

1. Speed

The biggest difference is speed. Measured from real records, a speed table deals a hand every 26 seconds and a regular table every 37 seconds. For a whole shoe that is 31 minutes against 45. In the same time a speed table deals over 40% more hands. If you want to finish fast, pick speed. If you want to watch at an easy pace, pick a regular table. Squeeze tables turn the cards slowly and are slower still.

2. Minimum and maximum bet

Each table has its own minimum. Most tables in the lobby start at $1, and some go lower or higher. If the first amount in your bet table is below the table minimum, you cannot follow your bet table there. Also avoid tables whose maximum is lower than the amount at your deepest step.

3. Payout rules

Most tables use the standard rule with a 5% banker commission. Some pay differently, like no-commission tables, and some add random multipliers to payouts. At those tables the same result pays a different amount. If a table name is unfamiliar, open it and read the payout table first.

4. What does not change: language and dealer

Tables with a language in the name, Korean, Japanese, Thai, simply have a dealer who speaks that language. It makes no difference to the results. Every standard table shuffles and deals the same way. After collecting shoes from 96 tables, we found no clear difference in how the results run from one table to another. There is no lucky table.

Summary

Speed speed 26 s, regular 37 s per hand (shoe 31 min, 45 min)
Minimum bet at or below your first bet amount
Maximum bet at or above your deepest bet amount
Payout rules check it is the standard rule
Language no effect on results
