10,320 won. That is Korea's minimum hourly wage for 2026, and the first number to keep beside any typing job listing there.
Typing jobs usually pay per task, so the hourly figure is not visible in the listing.
Below is how to read a listing against that number, answered question by question. The same method works with any country's minimum wage.
Most of it is entering text from paper documents or photos into a computer, or transcribing recordings. Script typing, which shows up in search suggestions, belongs to the same group.
Work usually comes in result units: one task, one page, or a few minutes of audio.

There is one formula. Multiply the per-task rate by the number of tasks finished in an hour.
The same 5,000 won listing works out to 10,000 won an hour at 30 minutes a task, about 6,667 won at 45 minutes, and 5,000 won at 60 minutes. The rate and the times here are assumptions.
The time estimate in a listing may be based on someone experienced. Run a timer for the first few tasks and write down how long each actually took.
Transcription takes much longer than the length of the audio. Count the replays and pauses too, or the hourly figure comes out too high.
Time spent fixing work sent back by a reviewer belongs to the same task. If revisions are frequent, the hourly rate falls by that much.
Albamon, a Korean job site, says in its safety page to confirm before starting that the job pays at least the minimum wage.
For example, to pass 10,320 won with two tasks an hour, each task must pay at least 5,160 won. With three tasks it is 3,440 won, with one task 10,320 won. Holding a listing's rate against those three numbers gives a quick read.
Minimum wage applies to employees, so a per-task freelance contract may not hold to that number. First find where the contract says whether it is employment or a per-task service.

Albamon warns about typing and data entry jobs that ask for money up front when the work starts. It goes by many names, such as sign-up fees, referral fees or deposits.
Albamon's page also says no high-paying job comes without a catch. The higher the rate promised for easy entry work, the more suspicion it deserves.

Korea's Financial Supervisory Service has warned that a request for a bank book, a check card or an account password on being hired is voice phishing.
The same warning says that if a lent account is used in a crime, the person who lent it can face criminal liability, damages and restricted banking. In Korea, report suspected cases to the police on 112 or the Financial Supervisory Service on 1332.
