Baccarat profit talk is usually about a single day. There are plenty of screenshots of today's win, but very few records that follow a whole month. Using the 8-deck odds of Evolution live baccarat at the Stake (stake.com) casino, we assumed flat 1-unit Player bets, 300 hands a day, and stretched the period. In a speed room, 300 hands take a little over two hours.
Period Hands Average result Swing (1 std dev) Chance ahead 1 day 300 -3.7 units +/-16.5 units 41% 10 days 3,000 -37 units +/-52 units 24% 1 month 9,000 -111 units +/-90 units 11%
The average loss grows in direct proportion to the number of hands. The swing grows only with the square root of the number of hands. So the longer the period, the more the disadvantage outweighs luck.
Looking at one day, four players in ten are ahead. That 41% is why daily profit screenshots never stop. If the same people continue for a month, only one in ten stays ahead, and that one was more than 1.2 standard deviations luckier than average. Same odds, different numbers, depending on where you cut the calendar.
The monthly average of -111 units is 1.24% of the total amount wagered (9,000 units). Raise your bets like Martingale and the total wagered grows, so the average loss grows at the same rate. When you plan a month, calculating "hands x bet size x 1.24%" first is more accurate than asking how much you will win. When you choose an automated program, judge what it does for you on top of that cost. The checklist is in our baccarat bot guide.
