Side jobs from home: what is left from one 10,000 won Naver Smart Store sale after fees and shipping

300 won. Since June 2, 2025, that is the sales fee (VAT included) when a 10,000 won item on Naver Smart Store sells through Naver search. Sell the same item through a marketing link the seller posted, and it is 100 won.
Lists of side jobs from home in Korea almost always include Smart Store. Online selling needs no office and can be registered as a business at a home address, so it counts as a side job from home (KB side job guide).
What the lists rarely do is count what is left in hand after one sale. Here we take one 10,000 won sale and subtract step by step.
1.Fees come in two layers
A Smart Store seller pays two main fees. The sales fee depends on where the order came from, and the order management fee covers payment and order handling.
Sales fee: the fee on orders from Naver search and shopping pages, in place of the old 2% inflow fee since June 2, 2025.
According to news reports, the sales fee is 2.73% for Smart Store and 3.64% for Brand Store, with VAT on top. Orders that come in through a marketing link issued in the seller center and posted on social media or forums drop to 0.91% for Smart Store (Byline Network, Herald Business).
The sales fee on a search order is three times the fee on a link order.
The order management fee depends on the seller's annual sales grade. In the 2021 revision the small grade, up to 300 million won a year, paid 2%, and the general grade, 3 billion won and over, paid 3.3% (Asia Economy).
Naver said that from October 1, 2025 it cut the Smart Store small grade by another 0.03 percentage points and the mid-size grades by 0.02 points (Naver press release).
Current rates by grade are in the seller center fee guide. Below, the order management fee is assumed at 2% with VAT.
2.One 10,000 won sale, subtracted step by step
Assumptions first. Item price 10,000 won, shipping paid by the seller, purchase cost 5,000 won, packing and shipping 2,500 won together. Cost and shipping vary a lot by item, so all of these are assumed.
The 2.73% sales fee plus 10% VAT is 3.003%, about 300 won on 10,000 won. For an order from a marketing link, 0.91% plus VAT is 1.001%, about 100 won.
The order management fee at the assumed 2% is 200 won. Together, a search order pays 500 won in fees and a link order 300 won.
Subtract the 5,000 won cost and 2,500 won packing and shipping, and a search order leaves 2,000 won while a link order leaves 2,200 won. The 200 won fee gap becomes a 10% gap in what is left.
Even so, the 7,500 won of cost and shipping decides what is left far more than the 500 won of fees. It makes sense to write down the wholesale price and shipping rate before reaching for a fee calculator.
To keep 500,000 won a month
With a goal of keeping 500,000 won a month (assumed), search orders alone need 250 sales and link orders alone need 228. Over 30 days that is 8.3 and 7.6 orders a day.
For the same goal, a cost just 500 won higher leaves 1,500 won per order and needs 334 sales. A 500 won difference in cost adds 84 orders a month. Cutting fees can hardly move the number that far.
In hours
If time is the reason for picking a side job from home, count the time per order too. Assume 10 minutes per order from checking it to packing and entering the waybill, and 250 orders take about 42 hours.
500,000 won over 42 hours is about 12,000 won an hour, a little above the 2026 minimum wage of 10,320 won. Finding products, taking photos, writing product pages and answering questions are not included.

3.Numbers to write down before starting
- Wholesale price: what one item costs to bring in.
- Shipping rate: courier fee and packing material per box.
- Order path: search or a link the seller posted. The larger the share of link orders, the lower the sales fee.
- Order management fee: the current rate for that grade in the seller center fee guide.
- Time per order: the actual minutes spent packing and entering the waybill.
