At 10:30 pm a trading bot on a laptop in Korea sends its first order of the night. That is when the Nasdaq regular session currently opens in Korean time.
After November 1 the same open moves to 11:30 pm, because US daylight saving time ends.
Below are the questions that come up when a Nasdaq trading bot runs from Korea, answered with the schedule first.
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) lists the core session as 9:30 am to 4:00 pm US Eastern time. The Nasdaq regular session runs in the same window. In Korean time that is 10:30 pm to 5:00 am while US daylight saving is on, and 11:30 pm to 6:00 am when it is off.

The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) says daylight saving starts at 2 am on the second Sunday of March and ends at 2 am on the first Sunday of November.
In 2026 that is March 8 to November 1.
Korea has no daylight saving, so when US clocks go back an hour, the session seen from Korea starts an hour later.
A bot that stores the open as "22:30 Korean time" will start acting an hour before the open from the night of November 2.
That hour belongs to the early session.
Early session trading is thin, and the same order can fill at a much worse price. For a strategy built only for the regular session, the first hour of orders becomes a different kind of order.
Writing the schedule in US Eastern time and converting to Korean time each day holds up better through the switch week.
On NYSE Arca the early session runs 4:00 to 9:30 am and the late session 4:00 to 8:00 pm US time. In Korean time that is 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm and 5:00 am to 9:00 am during daylight saving. From November 2 it becomes 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm and 6:00 am to 10:00 am
The last regular session under daylight saving is Friday October 30 in the US. In Korea it opens at 10:30 pm on October 30 and closes at 5:00 am on October 31.
The first standard time session is Monday November 2 in the US and opens at 11:30 pm Korean time that day. Checking the times in the bot's log once over that weekend is the safer move.

On the NYSE calendar the closures left this year are Thanksgiving on November 26 and Christmas on December 25. The market does not open on those days.
November 27 and December 24 close early at 1:00 pm US time. In Korean time the market closes at 3:00 am on November 28 and 3:00 am on December 25.
A bot that does not read the holiday calendar may send orders into a closed market, or leave orders unfilled after an early close.

The broker does not withhold tax on overseas stock gains for Korean residents. According to Samsung Securities' guide, 2.5 million won is deducted from a year's gains, then 20% capital gains tax and local income tax of 10% of that are paid.
The return is filed from May 1 to 31 of the following year. In the guide's own example, a 9 million won gain leaves 6.5 million won taxable, for 1.3 million won of capital gains tax and 130,000 won of local income tax, 1.43 million won in total.
An automated strategy trades often, which makes it hard to reconcile a year by hand, so it helps to download the broker's annual profit and loss statement early.
