Passive income streams sorted by whether a yield is published anywhere, and the one row that stays blank

The one table in this post

  • Among the things called passive income streams, the ones with a published yield are Korea's base rate 3.00%, bank deposits 3.21%, dividends 2.63% and the 3-year government bond 3.840% (checked 23 Oct 2026)
  • Ebooks, apps, ad revenue and affiliate links have no published yield anywhere, only each platform's payout rules
  • Automated betting has no published yield either, but one figure stands in its place: a banker share of 50.68% from shoes we recorded, an average loss of 1.15% per bet

1.What the phrase passive income streams puts on one list

Type passive income streams into Google on 23 October 2026 and the suggestions run to 2026, for beginners, ideas, meaning and online. On YouTube the top results are lists and income reveals.

Those lists put bank deposits and dividends next to ebooks, apps, ad revenue, affiliate links, trading bots and automated betting. Everything sits on the same page.

Published yield: a return worked out in a set way by a public body or a bank and posted for anyone to read.

This post sorts that list by one test only. Is there a published yield or not. How many days pass between a first sale and the first payout is covered separately in the passive income payout schedule.

2.The side with a published yield: four figures and the date checked

The Bank of Korea base rate has been 3.00% a year since 27 August 2026, one more step up from 2.75% set on 16 July (Bank of Korea base rate history).

Deposits are read from the weighted average interest rates the Bank of Korea publishes each month. In August 2026 the savings deposit rate on new transactions at deposit banks was 3.21% a year, the same as July (Bank of Korea release). It climbed slowly from 2.79% in January.

All four figures were checked on 23 October 2026. The dividend is for fiscal year 2025; the other three are 2026 values.

Dividends come from the Korea Exchange tally of 20 April 2026 covering cash dividends of December fiscal year-end companies on the KOSPI market. The average dividend yield on common shares was 2.63%, and 566 of 799 companies paid a cash dividend (Hankyung report).

The 3-year government bond yield is taken from the Bank of Korea's daily market rates: 3.840% on 22 October 2026 (Bank of Korea ECOS). Over ten days it moved between 3.822% and 3.921%.

All four have an institution and a date behind them, and anyone who checks on the same day gets the same number. Rental yield has a Korea Real Estate Board survey, but the original could not be opened to confirm it, so it is left off the table.

3.On one table: four rows with a filing and two rows without

Rows marked No under Published have their yield cell left blank. The figure in the automated betting row is our tally of recorded shoes, with no filing behind it.
▲ Rows marked No under Published have their yield cell left blank. The figure in the automated betting row is our tally of recorded shoes, with no filing behind it.

The top four rows are the figures from section 2.

The bottom two rows are the reason for this post.

Ebooks, apps, ad revenue and affiliate links have no published yield. What Kmong or AdSense posts is a fee schedule and payout rules, which is something else. Two people upload the same kind of ebook and one sells while the other does not, and no institution averages that gap into a number.

The reason no yield is published is simple. The return attaches to the person who made the thing, and no longer to a product. So the right move is to leave those cells blank.

Automated betting is a little different.

There is no filing, but the game has a fixed probability, so there is a figure to write in its place.

In the 8,228 clean shoes we recorded, after removing records with odd hand timing, banker won 50.68% of non-tie hands. That is the same as the eight-deck theoretical value. A banker win pays a 5% commission, so betting the same amount on banker every hand loses an average of 1.15% per bet.

  • Deposit, 10 million won: 321,000 won of interest in a year before tax (3.21%, simple multiplication)
  • 100 bets of 100,000 won: 10 million won wagered, 115,000 won of average loss (1.15%, simple multiplication)
An average is an average. Real results over 100 bets swing widely around it, some days up and some days down.

Ten million won moved in both cases. One side adds and the other subtracts. The four rows with a filing are all positive, and the only number in the automated betting row is negative.

The unit of time differs too. The 3.21% on a deposit arrives once after a year of waiting, while the 1.15% on a bet is taken every time a hand ends. With the same 10 million won, placing 100 bets is done within a day.

A row with a blank yield cell can only be filled with your own records.
▲ A row with a blank yield cell can only be filled with your own records.

The ebook and ad rows are blank because nothing is published. The automated betting row is not blank even though nothing is published. That one cell is the most important thing in this post.

4.The row that stays: what goes in the blank cell

Pick a row without a filing and the yield cell gets filled with your own records. For an ebook that means the upload date and the number of sales. For ads it means the confirmed monthly income.

Estimated earnings on a platform screen and actual deposits differ, so writing down only the deposits is the accurate way.

For automated betting three things are enough: hands played, total wagered and the balance at the end. Total wagered times 1.15% is the average, and where the real result landed around it is the record.

Money going out while the thing runs goes in the cell too. Subscription fees and the electricity for a PC left on are worked out in the home PC electricity post.

The four rows with a published yield leave nothing to write, and the two rows without leave a lot. The word pipeline sounds automatic. The blank cells are the ones that need the most attention.

5.One line to keep

Look for a published yield on a list of passive income streams and only deposits, dividends and government bonds remain, while automated betting keeps one figure in place of a filing: minus 1.15%.
