When a stock auto trading program review says "30% return this month", which account was that, and from what date to what date?
Most reviews end with one number and one screenshot.
A yardstick for reading that number already exists in Korean law. It is the four ad claims banned by the amended Capital Markets Act that took effect on August 14, 2024, and the wording that regulators actually caught in their 2025 inspection is public too.
According to the Financial Services Commission, the amendment was promulgated on February 13, 2024 and took effect on August 14 after six months of preparation (FSC, 2024-08-13). For ads by quasi investment advisers, these four are now banned.
Agreements to cover losses or promise profits were also banned. The ads must state that principal can be lost and that individual advice is not given.

Quasi investment adviser: gives general tips to the public one way. Paid two-way chat rooms count as advisory.
The law binds quasi investment advisers. Even when a seller is not one of them, the four lines still work as a way to read the numbers in any review.
First, the period of the return. A return with no start and end date cannot be told apart from a number cut from the best stretch. A return without dates looks exactly like the kind of ad the law banned.
Second, whether the number is an actual filled result. Words like "target return" or "expected monthly return" describe numbers that have not happened yet, and phrases like these appeared as violations in the 2025 inspection. If a review screenshot shows a big return with no trade history, stop at this item.
Third, whether returns from several stocks were added up. An ad that summed per-stock returns into one figure was actually caught. Putting a stock up 10% next to one up 20% and calling it 30% (an assumed example) does not grow the account by that much.
The change in the whole account balance is what makes a fair comparison.
Fourth, the refund line. "If there is no profit, we refund the full fee" reads as an ad that promises profit. A promise to cover losses is no reason to trust a review more.
Fifth, how the seller introduces itself. One 2025 case read "our company is under the Financial Supervisory Service".
Sixth, whether the required notices are there. If the chance of losing principal, the lack of individual advice, or the fact that it is not a licensed investment firm is missing, a required notice was left out.
When reading one review
Whether a business is registered can be looked up on the Financial Supervisory Service FINE site. The steps are in how to check an AI auto trading site.
Some questions remain even after a review passes this check. How many weeks the record covers and how deep the worst drop was are covered in numbers to check in auto trading program reviews.

The 2025 results are in an FSC press release dated April 20, 2026 (FSC, 2026-04-20). Regular inspections found 133 violations at 105 firms. The 2024 figure was 130.
The Financial Supervisory Service examined 49 firms and found legal breaches at 35, and those 35 were fined a total of 470 million won. That is about 3.3 times the 2024 amount of 140 million won across 22 firms.

The release says misleading ads that inflate returns or suggest losses will be covered and profits secured rose from the year before. Return ad violations did not go down after the rules arrived.
The release notes that suspicious ads can be reported to the Financial Supervisory Service's quasi investment advisory damage report center.
Keep the date and address in the screenshot.
A review's return can only be compared with other numbers when it comes with dates, actual fills and the account balance together.
