Automated Trading Bot Reviews: 4 Numbers to Check Before You Trust One

Look up reviews of a crypto trading bot, an AI trading bot or a stock bot and you see the same kind of screen: a screenshot with a return on it, a line about how much it made in a few weeks, and a sign up link. That does not make the review false. One number just is not enough to judge, so here are four things to check while reading. We put the same test on auto betting for Evolution live baccarat at the Stake (stake.com) casino.

Period: how many weeks does the review cover

Luck alone can produce a short winning run. Betting the same amount on Banker in baccarat loses about 1.2% per hand on average, yet about 43% of 100 hand runs still end in profit. At 1,000 hands it is 35%, at 10,000 hands 8 to 11% (profit screenshot post). The shorter a bot review's period, the bigger luck's share.

Max drawdown: how deep did it fall on the way

Reviews often show only the end number. What you actually have to sit through is the deepest drop in the middle. A bot that ended up 10% after falling 40% gets switched off by most people before the recovery. A review without drawdown shows half the picture.

Fees and who is left

A fee on every trade looks small and adds up with every trade. The Banker commission in baccarat works the same way. And reviews are written by the people it worked for. Those who lost delete quietly, so ten positive reviews tell you nothing about everyone who tried.

Will last month's winner win next month

A method picked on past data always looks good on that same data. In our own test, 208 of 218 betting methods that looked best in the first half of the period fell apart in the second half (testing a betting method). The last check is whether the review tests on data it did not pick from.

Summary

Period shorter means more luck (43% of 100 hand runs end up)
Drawdown the deepest drop, not just the end
Fees grow with every trade
Who is left reviews come from winners
Testing picked on one set, checked on another?
