It is Friday night. The balance looks right, so the withdraw button gets pressed. The screen now shows one line, "processing", and nothing about when it will end.

Casino withdrawal time is not one wait. Before the money reaches the receiving account it passes through several stages, and each stage has its own clock.

This post does not pick or recommend any site. It lays those stages out in order and attaches the figures published by a regulator and an exchange.

1.A withdrawal passes through five stages

For a payout received in crypto, there are five stages.

Request: the button is pressed and the request is logged
Site processing: the site reviews the request and sends it
Extra checks: only when the site asks for more documents or source of funds
Chain transfer: confirmations build up on the blockchain
Receiving side: the receiving exchange checks confirmations and the sender, then credits the balance

Withdrawal schedule: the time each stage takes, from the request to the money showing in the receiving balance.

Bank payouts swap the chain transfer for bank processing. The rest is the same.

2.Stage by stage: from request to arrival

Right after the request: is there a way back?

Since 31 October 2021, the UK Gambling Commission has not allowed online operators to give customers an option to cancel a withdrawal request (UK reverse withdrawal decision).

The target was the feature that sends a pending withdrawal back into the balance. The Commission saw it as a risk to engaged and vulnerable gamblers.

A cancel button on a pending withdrawal is a sign that the site sits outside UK rules.

Site processing: 24 to 48 hours

Looking at data from some of the largest operators, the UK Gambling Commission found that about 99% of withdrawal requests were processed within 24 to 48 hours. The remaining 1% took longer (UK Gambling Commission, 2023).

The same post says withdrawals are the number one topic consumers raise. A year later the Commission put complaints about withdrawal delays at around 2,000 a year.

Even at UK licensed operators, two days falls inside the normal range. Assuming a Friday night request, "processing" can last until Sunday night.

Extra checks: the longest stage when it appears

Most withdrawals skip this stage. When it does appear, it becomes the longest part of the schedule, because none of the figures in this post put a time limit on it and the wait runs until the documents are accepted.

UK rules require identity checks before gambling starts (LCCP 17.1.1). Information that could have been requested earlier cannot be made a condition of payout (UK Gambling Commission, 2024).

There are two exceptions. One is information that could not reasonably have been requested earlier. The other is a money laundering suspicion, where the law requires that the customer is not tipped off.

Chain transfer and the receiving side: 1 to 45 minutes

Once the site sends the coins, the receiving exchange waits for its required confirmations and then credits the balance. The next section times this by chain.

3.Until the receiving exchange credits the balance

On Kraken's table, USDT on Tron takes 20 confirmations and about 1 minute, and USDT on Solana takes under a minute. The same USDT on Ethereum waits for finalization, about 20 minutes, and on Polygon 250 confirmations, about 25 minutes. Litecoin needs 12 confirmations and 30 minutes (Kraken deposit processing times).

Bitcoin takes 45 minutes.

On the whole schedule, the chain stage is 45 minutes at most, small next to two days of site processing. Fees and timing on the sending side are worked out in the crypto deposit post.

4.When the receiving exchange holds it again

Kraken tells EU and UK clients that deposits and withdrawals over 1,000 EUR go through wallet verification, and that the deposit is released once that is done (Kraken transfer procedures).

The same page says Kraken only allows first-party transactions. Money sent straight from a site's wallet does not come from the customer's own wallet.

Whether the receiving exchange accepts deposits sent from a site is worth asking its support before requesting the withdrawal. If it stops here, the balance does not move even after the site has finished.

Gambling law differs by country. In South Korea, Article 246 of the Criminal Act makes gambling punishable. These timings assume the local law allows it.
