Monday evening, the balance screen opens. Not one bet went in over the weekend, yet the number is not the one written down on Friday. The bet history is empty.
Depositing at a bitcoin casino means turning money into a quantity of coin. The quantity stays put, but what that quantity is worth follows the market, so the converted balance moves on days with no play at all.
This post does not pick a site or recommend depositing. It counts how far bitcoin moves in a day from public data, and sets that beside the expected loss of betting the same money.
Converted balance: the coin quantity in the wallet multiplied by the price at that moment, read in dollars or pounds.
What the wallet actually holds is a coin quantity. Deposit 0.01 BTC and it stays 0.01 until a bet is placed.
The moment that quantity is read in dollars, the price is multiplied in. If the price rises 3%, the converted balance rises 3%; if it falls, the balance falls with it. That happens with no bet placed.
Sending fees and the wait before a deposit shows up are covered in baccarat site deposits. This post is about what happens after the deposit, while the balance sits in the wallet.
The daily candles came from the public API of the Korean exchange Upbit, 365 days from 27 October 2025 to 26 October 2026 (Upbit daily candle API docs). The API returns 200 days per call, so two calls were chained. They were fetched on the morning of 27 October 2026.
The calculation is one line. Each day's close is divided by the previous close to get the change, the sign is dropped, and the median and the distribution are counted from those absolute values. The candles are on UTC days.

Half the year ended inside 1% for the day, and roughly one day in ten moved more than 3%. Days above 5% came about once every 40 days.
The biggest fall and the biggest rise sit next to each other. On 5 February the close went from 107,867,000 KRW to 92,920,000 KRW, and the next day it rose to 104,990,000 KRW.
A 13.86% fall followed by a 12.99% rise still ends 2.7% below where it started. The arithmetic of a drop not being undone by the same percentage rise is right there in those two days.
Over a week instead of a day, the median 7-day move is 2.97%. Over 30 days the median is 6.77%, and the widest 30-day moves were +21.53% and -31.83%.
Across the same year the close ranged from 89,120,000 KRW to 168,980,000 KRW. The lowest close was 47% below the highest. A balance left untouched at the top of that range and read again at the bottom would show less than half, with no bet in between.
The exchange and the currency pair do not change the shape of this. The same coin trades on every exchange at nearly the same price, so a dollar-based venue would show a different number for the same day but a similar percentage.
The longer a balance stays in coin, the wider the movement that has nothing to do with betting, from about 1% a day to about 7% a month. The range is the same in both directions.
The baccarat figures are from clean shoes among the shoes actually collected. Banker won 50.68% of non-tie hands, and the expected loss on one banker bet is 1.15% of the stake.
Assume $100 a hand and the expected loss is $1.15. A shoe runs a median 67 hands with 6.23 ties on average, so about 61 hands take a bet; betting $100 on banker on every one gives an expected loss of about $70 per shoe.
Now assume a $1,000 balance and measure the price side with the same ruler.

The expected loss over a whole shoe, about $70, and the median 30-day price move, about $68, are almost the same size.
The two are different in kind.
The expected loss is an average that piles up on one side as hands go by, while the price goes up as often as it goes down. On a single day the price side is ten times larger; over a full shoe the two values come close. Both land on the same balance on the same day, so there will be days when the bet history alone cannot explain why the balance changed.
Recording the coin quantity and the converted amount separately makes it possible to tell which one moved.
A stablecoin pegged to the dollar swings far less. Which coins a site accepts differs from site to site and is something to read on the deposit screen.
Keeping the time short is another approach. Even then, the price keeps moving while a deposit waits to show up and while a withdrawal travels to an exchange. The steps and timing of a withdrawal are in baccarat site withdrawals.
Prices rise too, so the converted balance will grow on some days. That growth is not a betting result.

In Korea, Article 246 of the Criminal Act treats gambling as a punishable act (Korean Law Information Center). The figures here assume the law where the reader lives allows it, and anyone in Korea facing money trouble from gambling can talk to the Korea Center on Gambling Problems on 1336.
A balance deposited in coin keeps its quantity but its converted value moves with the price, and that median daily move of 1.05% is a number of the same order as the 1.15% expected loss on one banker bet.
